The Project is Over.

Well the project is over, actually it was marked ages ago but i guess i'd better inform those if any that check out this space every so often - that I will no longer be posting.

Quick news - I've just started year 12 and i'm still addicted to golf

M.Giles Update - Club Championships #2

Well, basically...I choked in the Club Champs. After a really bad round of 81 in hard conditions I found myself in a tie for 4th. Unfortunately, or fortunately as it turns out, I was beaten on a countback into making the final seeded group on Sunday, so I didn't have that much of a crowd following the 2nd seeded group around. For those that came and watched they saw a young man play brilliantly for the first 14 holes before he choked hard to finish double, triple, double bogey - ouch (82)! Anyways it was still good enough for an overall 5th placed (missed out on 4th by 1 shot) which earned me $125 big ones.

Anyway, after a few good rounds my handicap is now 4.6 - I am desperate to get it down to 4, + the money I won in the championships allowed me to pay off my futsal fees.

Futsal, for those of you that don't know is hardcore indoor soccer, and our team has just made it 2 out of 2 wins tonight. The first game was forfeited to us and we won the second game 14-2. I, captain M.Giles scored 4 goals and had a 5th taken away by a teammate who nudged in my long header attempt just before it went it. Hopefully we can make the finals but it is going to be tough with some seriously physical men's teams coming up.

Back to the golf and I am working very hard on my game while I only have 4 or so weeks of school left for the term, before 10 weeks of non-stop golf.

Can't wait.

Probably won't be a post for a while coz my school work is starting to swamp me.

M.Giles Update - Club Championships

Well it is club championships time in the ACT and all the local clubs are having their most prestigious tournaments on the calendar over the next few weeks.

My home club (Yowani GC) had its first and second of four rounds last weekend. After fairly average rounds of 77 and 76, I find myself in a tie for 3rd place overall - 9 shots back from two gun players.

If I maintain my current form I will surely find myself in the final 'leaders' group on Sunday which would be an experience and a half.

Tiger Does it Again

In sporting news my main man Tiger Woods has dominated at the PGA Championship. He has now won 12 majors and is well on his way to becoming the undisputed, greatest golfer and even athlete of all time. He is just 7 majors away from breaking the 'untouchable' record Jack Nicklaus set over his career.

It is also worth mentioning that

I also have to mention that I my handicap is on its way down. My last three rounds of 78,78 and 74 have been good enough to reduce my handicap to 6.6. The 74 also brought on a nice paycheck.

This burst of form comes on the back of stern words from the ACT coach telling me that if I didn't improve fast, I wouldn't be going interstate for the next national tournament. Hopefully I can keep the form up and cement my place in the squad.

What happens in a usual day:

7:30 - wake up time
9:00 - go to school: if I have a line off - head to the golf course for some practice
4:00 - go to the golf course
6:00 - get home from golf and have dinner
7:00 onwards - watch TV and pretend to do homework yeh what a life.

What Classes I do at School:

Physics, Chemistry, Math Methods, Specialist Math, CyberSpace (the reason I am doing this blog) and TSP (Talented Sports Program).

- My folks make me do hard as classes but I sppse its for the best.
